Instruments in center console
When I bought my compi, I noticed that those three instruments in the center console was replaced with a ashtray. Are those instruments standard equipment on compi by the way? I found some cut wires behind the ashtray, but I don't know where they belong. I bought a full set of instruments from S2, but the wires on those three instruments in the center console doesn't match colors with those wires I found.

Re: Instruments in center console
yes if it is a true compi, it must have the three small gauges.
to find out if it is a true compi, look at the fuel tank door, if you have specs of 16" tyres, than it is a compi.
maybe you have the instruments from an older s2, with different wire colors.
make a pic of the wires and i will tell you if the wires are the right ones or not.

Re: Instruments in center console
The instruments is from a 95 mod S2 coupe, and the wire colors on the instrument is different from those you posted.
This is my guessing(the wire colors are correct):
Black/Blue: + Ignition
Grey/Blue: + Instrument lightning(ashtray light bulb)
Grey/Brown: + Permanent (S14, 5A)
Brown: Ground
Blue/White: oil pressure signal
Green/Black: oil temp signal
It's a original compi. It was registered in 95 with the ACE-engine, so I guess that's proof enough.
The last owners didn't seem to care about it, so the wire harness looks like a mess. I pulled down the cover in front of the driver, under the dash, and it looked like a badly made spagetti. Some of the wires was actually melted, and some other was just hanging there with no purpose. Let me put it this way: I'm suprised every time the car starts :p
