s3v3n's Compi
Hello folks,
written as yesterday I picked up yesterday, my compi.
Today was the first time in most things, Front brakes changed, the moment I put on my Avant as were new and had no impact. In a few weeks i change to G60 calipers.
Then I changed once the speedometer, but lo and behold, the speedometer was still not fuses are okay.
The engine responds quickly, but the "shutdown" for the idle speed is too long. The throttle I then cleaned twice, it's better but still not perfect.
There is still work to do.
Always picture.

Re: s3v3n's Compi
Hey crazy guys,
I have promised you some pictueres. Here they are.
The conditioner has done a great job and everything taken out from the beautiful paint.
First things what i've done was small things.
Change the oil (5W40), change the light (Osram Night Braker Plus), change the lights in the interiour (ah, little question, is it possible to change the lights from the window and mirror switches? Or need i some new switches?)
I've told you about my problem with my speedometer. It was very simple, the plug from the signal transmitter at the transmission was not exactly in his position.
But there are some smaller problems.
The rotation per minute in free-wheel are cruel.
Sometimes it is 850, perfectly, some other time 1200, and a few minutes later he is going out.
I've checked the "LLRV". First i've clean it with some "WD-40", then i've check it with 12V. It works good.
The next things i've to check are the under pressure, the potentiometers (but that's not relevant, i want to build in a NG "Drosselklappe"), the coolant temperature sensor, and after that i allways hope it's a problem from yesterday.
Today i've order some parts from audi, largely some gaskets.
I see, i have a lot of work in the next weeks.
Also i want to look for some hub caps from the rims, i don't have some one.
So,
we read us.
BTW: Sorry for the big pictures.

Re: s3v3n's Compi
the switches have leds inside, you need to open them and change the leds
the mirror switch has 2 small bulbs inside that are soldered in
if the idle valve works well, check if the idle switch on the drosselklappe...

Re: s3v3n's Compi
Thanks, thats the information that i need.
I've orderd some parts. For theese i must to build out some parts, in this step i want make some new from engine.
Today i was by Audi, it's funny, the OEM LLRV cost 259€, and in web cost it 149€ (from Bosch).
Which colors for intake manifold and valve color? red and black? I love your painted engine Sküll.

Re: s3v3n's Compi

Re: s3v3n's Compi
Yesterday i've ordered a new radio.
This one: JVC KD-SD80BT
Let's see what it can.
I suspect a faulty LLRV confirmed more and more, this morning it was very bad again at the idle.
So, build out and clean it again. After then he runs almost normaly.
Ordered a new one from Bosch. I hope the parts come before weekend. I need work.

Re: s3v3n's Compi
since you live in germany, could you ask at audi, if there is a way to know, or if they know what serial number is a compi by the VIN number?
Re: s3v3n's Compi
I think tomorrow or early next week i'm again at Audi, then I ask for you, no problem.
Write a pm with the chassis number?

Re: s3v3n's Compi
ok, i will pm you my chassis number.
another thing, do you know if it has ever been made a TÜV for the compi original spoiler extensions (Spoilererhöhung)?

Re: s3v3n's Compi
Oh, i don't know, but i can ask Audi too.
I've find a good page for "encode the chassis number", Link, but there is only for standard information.
For the other information i think you must to have ask Audi. (For you i make it the next days)

First painted parts. I think another layer of clear paint over it to draw? For the shining, and i'm think then it's better to clean, not?

Re: s3v3n's Compi
Yeah, im install the other parts and start the engine the first time, it was nearly perfect.
Then i change the "poti" and now it runs realy perfect.
The new look:
I want that the engine runs perfect.
This was a small thing to make it better.
But my plan is another, i'm going to try an electronic injection like digifant to build in, why?
Easy, i have an Eaton M62 supercharger, now its simple to count 1 on 1.
I have in mind as well as what individual throttle in the direction, well, let's see.
At first i want to make suspension and exhaust.
But first i have to build in my new turbocharger in my s2 Avant.
By the way:
Incidentally, you may like to give his opinion, not only sküll.

Re: s3v3n's Compi
Today i've tested my compi first time on track (Nordschleife/Nürburgring/Green Hell)
Well, nice car.
Engine is great, it turns till 6900-7000rpm.
The gearbox is not the best, the jump between 2nd and 3rd gear is to great.
Suspension, to vague, but okay.
Breaks, yeah, great fuck, to much fading. I don't think that is better with G60 brakes, well see what other options i have.
Quattro...More then nice. No screaming tires, only it's turn in the corner to your wanted direction.
All in all, great car what need a little revision.
I wait for the pics, i think somebody has make a picture from my car.
I've only this one.

Re: s3v3n's Compi
Hello folks,
now its going on with my brakes.
The next day, I'll revise my g60 calipers.
I have now decide me for for Tarox Zero discs and EBC Red Stuff pads, also Evolity Inox brakelines.
This for the front. I hope this make it nearly perfect.
Rear i don't know, but i think series brakes, ATE discs with ATE pads.

Re: s3v3n's Compi
to tell the truth, the girling 60 calipers are not a real upgrade.
first thing is, the calipers are very very heavy, which doesent help.
the second thing is, the 2 pistons are not there for better stopping power, but just for the larger pads, which "only" helps with slower pad and disc consumption.
for better stopping power, the only solution is larger diameter disks.

Re: s3v3n's Compi
Yeah, i know it.
First they was in my S2, it was okay, but not good.
It's the first upgrade, when i going on to build an supercharged ACE, then i must look for 5x112 and another brake.
I think K-Sport 6/8 piston with a good disc dimension.
But how i said, for the first it must be okay with inox line, good discs and nice pads.
