Audi 80 Competition with 5cyl turbo (Lots of pictures)
Hi all, started to plan this project last summer and started to collect parts with the things i needed.
Started to tear down the car in March and now its drivable (but as always, there is some things to fix on it)
First test run down to the petrol station to get some E85.
Specs;
AAN 2.2 20v 5cyl turbo engine
VEMS engine management.
VAG trigger behind flywheel (From newer VW)
VAG 115r coils
875cc Siemens injectors
Bosch 044 fuelpump in tank
Garett gt3076r
Homemade IC 3" 600x300mm
Homemade SS exhaust 3"
Homemade gearbox and engine mountings.
Exhaust manifold and downpipe in steel (will be made new this winter)
01e gearbox from Audi S6 -95 (5speed)
3B Flywheel
Sachs 707 Pressure plate
4-Puck sinter
Rear diff from Audi S2 Avant
5-bolt conversion (S2 hubs)
Aluminium Bushings in subframes and plastic / powerflex in all moving parts.
Porsche / Brembo front brakes with 314mm discs.
Audi S4 V8 cab ~2005 rear brakes (300mm discs)
Dual brake cylinders with balance bar pedal box instead of brake servo and removed ABS.
Steel braided brake lines.
ATM i use Yellow Konis with lowering springs but will get myself a adjustable chassis so that i can lift the car a couple of cm in the winter.
17" Avus and 18" A8 Sport are my wheels atm.
Plan is to use the Avus on the winter and the 18" in the summer.
A couple of pictures!
At the moment im running with 0.85 bar of boost and its handling well.
Will try 1.2-1.3 bar later this week to see if all holds up, remember bone stock AAN-engine except head gasket!
Going to build a new engine this winter and make some finish up under the hood. And in the future hopefully the car could get a full repaint also!
Over and out!

Re: Audi 80 Competition with 5cyl turbo (Lots of pictures)
Thank you, not in any way in class with yours, but hopefully with a couple of years of refining the car it will be!
I where out testing some higher boost and having 1.2bar now and i would say that its comparable with my old original Audi Rs2 with its 315hp.
Will try 1.5-1.6 later this summer!
